A “green” hotel
We live in a region, the Trentino, that has no less than 10,000 firs per inhabitant: a true treasure trove that needs to be safeguarded and loved and that we mountainfolk have learned to treasure since we were children. It’s in our DNA!

And that’s why we at the Hotel La Grotta pay particular attention to ecology and safeguarding the environment.

1.    80% of our building was renovated using CasaClima technology (building energy efficiency certification).

2.    Our water is heated directly by the sun
thanks to our solar panels.

3.    The electricity we use is produced by a hydroelectric consortium.

4.    Each room has independent heating controls optimising energy consumption.

5.    We use only low-energy light bulbs.

6.    We use mainly local ingredients in our restaurant to reduce the environmental impact of their food miles as well as to showcase wholesome Trentino produce.

7.    Our hotel has obtained the European Ecolabel certifying our structure’s environmental sustainability.

Our next aim is very ambitious: to offer our guests vehicles running on clean energy.

Is this a dream? No. It’s a challenge. We like challenges, especially environmentally-friendly challenges. They represent a way to growth.

Safeguarding the environment, waste separation, energy saving, reduction of CO2, health and life styles of each individual person: these are the issues that we care about.
