Hotel La Grotta – A pride that comes from afar
In the mid-16th century, the current location of the Hotel La Grotta was an important place for the entire Val di Fassa: the parish priest of the little church of St. Juliana, the patron of the valley, lived here. Another part of the building was dedicated to agriculture and farming.
Towards the end of the 17th century it was bought by some of our ancestors who continued to use it for pastoral activities until 1968 when the building was converted into a hotel. Evidence of the historical importance of this building is to be found in a Latin inscription on a granite beam.
“We are very proud of our past and we strive to keep the importance of this place alive by passing on to our guests the memories of a distant past that still survives today”.
